"I've known and loved Carolyn's music for years. This is her first book, a companion to her third CD by the same title "Lord of the Seasons. This book, however, can very well stand alone but being able to listen to the songs makes it even better. I love the short chapters that are straightforward and to the point. Carolyn bares her heart and shares some of her personal struggles through the seasons of her life. I could relate to it so well. The chapter entitled "Winter Winds" alone is worth buying the book. Who has not been through a winter season in their life? Maybe the very young....but let us head a few years down the road and there will be a winter season somewhere. Carolyn shares valuable and practical insights on how to survive a winter season. I also loved the chapter on the season of loss. The title is the same as her song "I will say farewell." This chapter made me cry as I thought about the dear ones to whom I had to say good-bye to. I lost many of them not in death but in the many military moves we had in our lives. If you can relate or mourn the passing of a friend Carolyn's words will be healing balm to your soul.
Carolyn is not only beautiful on the outside but has a beautiful spirit and soul as well. Her love and devotion to God who has brought her through many difficulties is inspiring.
